POS Staging [Definition]

Shardware_staging.jpgtaging in the point of sale industry refers to the advanced loading and configuration of software, where complete systems including terminals, back of house (BOH) servers, and other POS peripherals are built and boxed for store-level deployment. 

This system engenerring takes place in a staging center so that the point of sale workstations are ready to plug-and-play as soon as they hit the store. Once onsite, POS technitians and engeneers will then install and deploy small to large-scale point of sale system rollouts as well as train personell.
